Yesterday, at E3 conference in Los Angeles, Microsoft announced a new graphic interface and the full backward compatibility of the Xbox One, therefore the new console will run the Xbox 360 games.
The console will have a completely new user interface, both from the graphical and the control system point of view.
You can see how it is in the video below.
The backward compatibility is already available today for all those who are part of the preview, while for all the others the compatibility will be implemented over the summer.
On the official Xbox forum, the Program Manager Emily Hanson has recently confirmed some information and revealed new details about the newly-announced features of the Xbox One.
First of all, Hanson has specified that both digital and retail versions will be compatible.
To take advantage of the new function, players are not expected to own an Xbox 360, while instead be in possession of the game.
Hanson also wanted to specify that not all the games released for the Xbox 360 will be compatible. Currently the list includes 18 titles. However, it will be constantly updated with new games. The users will also have the opportunity to express their preferences via Xbox Feedback, saying what they would like to tackle on the Xbox One.
If the player had already saved the in-game progress on the Xbox 360 it will be accessible via cloud on the Xbox One and he will not have to re-unlock the Achievement already obtained.
Hanson also confirmed that all games that support the backward compatibility can take advantage of the cross-platform multiplayer between the two. Therefore the Xbox One players will be able to play with the Xbox 360 and vice versa, keeping in mind they must own the game.
